Hi, my names Elyse. I'm not a designer I'm a science nerd at heart  - at least that's what I always thought. When I met my husband, I was a hard core science nerd and he was a budding entrepreneur, starting up a small renovation business. Ten years, four kids, and several rehabs later - and I guess I caught the bug!

What I've come to appreciate about design is its ability to shape our environment-mold it to a space that can act as a reprieve, inspire creativity, or serve as a touchdown for gatherings.

All kinds of things inspire me; the new tiny house movement, natural elements and the current trend towards repurposing/reclaiming items and infusing them with new life. I'm a big fan of Genieve Gorder. Her designs are both eclectic and sophisticated in a way that comes across as unexpected. I'm also a fan of Joanna Gains and her show "Fixer Upper." I love her unique way of incorporating repurposed items into her design plans. Her use of natural elements and simple touches imbue her spaces with a curated look, that still manages to feel fresh - it's an enviable equilibrium!
